AUGUST WORKSHOP: Finding Flight & Building Strength
How can we build strength in different ways? This 90-minute workshop will explore how we can use movement to empower, and as a tool to dismantle old encumbering thought systems. Can we use training and drills as a means to body awareness and ownership?

About the Event
What can strength training can help us achieve and feel? This workshop will explore achievable goal setting, and empowerment through strength.
Step 1: Goal setting - Intention for practice
There doesn’t need to be a reason why for everytime we practice. However it can be helpful as tool to keep momentum & build a routine. The reason can also be simple i.e. carving out a little time for myself, committing to myself, understanding myself, being present.
Step 2: Warm up - The importance of warm up
Whatever you do, whether it's olympic weightlifting, yoga, or running, a warm up is essential.
Step 3: Attention to detail - The art of looking, feeling, tasting, being
The ability to hone in on the small things: i.e. hands and the upper back press. Not overloading yourself, a couple of minutes each time.
Step 4: The work
Progressive in difficulty, fatigue and effort. Keep checking back in with step 1,2,3 as you work through.
Step 5: PLAY - The art of getting it wrong
Trusting that it is all there, the intelligence of the body.
Step 6: Balance
How do we keep check of balance, of too much of a good thing. How can positive daily rituals be incorporated into building strength?
Step 7: Reflection
What went well, what are you grateful for, what surprised you?
